This project was done during a 24-hour Art-A-Thon hosted by Art Hatch/Distinction Gallery in Escondido, California, USA on January 3rd, 2015. The following images make up one photo book. The images are printed on professional glossy custom-sized photo paper using an 8-ink Canon Pixma Pro-100 with genuine ChromaLife 100+ year ink. The photo books, custom-made using finished plywood with a hinged front cover, measure 9 inches wide x 14.5 inches long and is oriented to be viewed landscape. We created eleven books for this project. Books #4, #5, #6, and #7 (of 11) are still available. We will not be creating any more of these specific photo books again. If you would like to inquire about purchasing one of these limited-edition photo books, please send us an email.
These images, sketched and planned over a 4-week period of time, represent our photographic interpretation (with some photo editing/manipulation/creation) of Pink Floyd's album "Dark Side of the Moon". There is one cover page (the large clock showing 12 o'clock), one credits page, and the rest, in order, follow the album track-by-track. The photos were all shot at night during the 24-hour event, including the image of the moon. Styles of photography performed for this included portrait, product, and action photography and involved use of 3 speedlights, softboxes, reflectors, models, assistants, 10 hours of shooting time, many hours of editing, then printing, and final book assembly. We hope you enjoy our visual interpretation of Dark Side of the Moon... one of the most abstract projects we've done to date. A big "thank you" goes out to those who helped us with this project and to Distinction Gallery for the opportunity to create.
